Fostering Environmental Stewardship in Our Schools: Mbak Etoi Takes the Lead
At SHADEF, we believe that lasting environmental change begins in the classroom—and this week, we took another bold step in that direction. As part of our ongoing School Environmental Responsibility Initiative, we proudly donated waste bins to Community Secondary School, Mbak Etoi, igniting a wave of eco-conscious action among students and staff alike.
But this initiative wasn’t just about dropping off waste bins. It was about planting seeds of environmental consciousness in young minds and empowering them to take responsibility for their surroundings.
With the right tools, like waste bins, students can learn to manage waste properly—developing habits that stick with them for life. To support this, our team also led a hands-on environmental workshop for students and teachers. The session focused on:
- Waste segregation
- The importance of recycling
- The link between proper waste management and climate action
The enthusiasm and curiosity we witnessed were nothing short of inspiring. Students asked thoughtful questions and shared creative ideas about how they could make their school a greener place.
